Isle Be Wed – a wedding show

Breaching orcas, smooth sea water, and tall moss covered evergreens, this is the backdrop the San Juan Island’s offer for your wedding. These islands are a special place to be wed. But how do you organize a wedding on a remote romantic island that is only accessed by ferry, boat or plane? We we have made that easy for you.

This year plan to visit the Isle Be Wed San Juan Island’s wedding show Saturday March 9th from 10am – 4pm. Here you will find showcase vendors from across the islands. Visit one of the three island event locations : The San Juan Yacht club, Outlook Inn in Eastsound, or Orcas Hotel at the Orcas Ferry Landing. Why bring in vendors from off Island when you can save money and have the ease of using Island professionals. Vendors include photographers, caterers, florists, musicians, accommodations, venues, and many more. Here is the short list of our favorites:

The Island Inn @ 123 West – This stylish botique hotel is perfect for you, your fiancé and up to forty of the people you really want to invite. Check out their beautiful wedding video.

Lakedale Resort – Lakedale Resort offers spectacular lakeside views and unparalleled wedding ceremony and reception sites for events up to 150 guests.

Cask and Schooner Restaurant – Come enjoy your rehearsal dinner at this fabulous nautical themed pub which features local produce, meat and seafood.

Schooners North – Celebrate your wedding aboard a schooner. Sailing aboard one of their traditionally gaff-rigged vessels engages your senses and takes you to another place in time, a time away from a busy world.

So mark your calendars Saturday March 9th from 10am – 4pm for the Isle be Wed wedding show and have your special day take place in a really remarkable place.|facebook: Isle Be Wed|San Juan Island’s

Farmers Market on San Juan Island

The San Juan Islands are know for their fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and local lamb as well as a strong locavore culture. Fortunately for you as a visitor it is easy to sample the Islands fruits.  Many island restaurants have regionally focused menus such as Coho or Cask and Schooner, island farms have open tour days and roadside stands are abundant with the harvest of that week. But, one of our favorite ways to enjoy the Island’s abundance is at the San Juan Island Farmers Market.

During the summer this weekly Saturday event takes place at the newly renovated Brickworks and is the best place to find local fruits, flowers, herbs, goat cheese, eggs, tomatoes, jams and jellies, baked goods, sushi, sausages, sustainably harvested tuna, shellfish, grass-fed meats, and much more. You may also have the chance to listen to some live music, get a bike tune up or get a trim. Find this lively scene outdoors from the middle of April to the third week in October. The San Juans are beautiful year round though and we didn’t forget about our fall/winter visitors. The winter market is held at the Friday Harbor High School Commons on select Saturdays, November through March. See the market calendar for dates.

Why buy in the San Juans

Buy Property in the San Juan Islands

San Juan Vacation Rentals gives us a few reasons why we should invest in the most beautiful San Juan Islands.

San Juan Island Vacation Home – Why Not?

Thinking of investing in a Second home or vacation home?  The San Juan Islands, located in Washington State, offer some of the most majestic sights from ocean views to whales, and a multitude of activities from kayaking, biking, hiking and more.  The Island’s close proximity to Seattle and the Eastside make it easy to travel to the islands either by car and ferry, plane, or boat.

Buyers; we have affordable waterfront -income producing properties-currently on the market.  There are great deals out there!  buy property like this in the San Juan Islands.Limited land on the islands coupled with destination location status will continue to always make this an attractive place for buyers.  Our close proximity to Seattle (Microsoft, Amazon and  Boeing) make the San Juan Islands an ideal vacation home getaway.  Our real estate values are solid and still affordable compared to other waterfront areas in the US.

My comments to sellers in this market: Consider the 4 P’s of marketing

Make sure your home shines when potential buyers come through. Qtip clean, clutter free, and if you need help staging ask a professional!  You have all the control over making your home put its best foot forward.  Make sure you price accordingly.  You’ll get overlooked by overpricing a home in our current market.  You don’t have much control over location…it is where it is.  Knowing your audience helps with promotion.  The internet is a cost effective way to advertise and hit a large number of interested consumers – locally and internationally. Your very best bet is a qualified real estate agent with an excellent reputation.

If you’re looking for a place that offers a little rest and relaxation and you’ve never visited the San Juan Islands,  you really should consider doing so!
